We began by revising “yet” and “already”.

Have you done it yet? (“yet” in questions)

I haven’t done it yet. (“yet” in negatives)

I have already done it. (“already” in positive statements)

We then went on to verb patterns.

I want (to go/go/going) to the cinema.

Here we have to choose “I want to go..” as want always takes “to + infinitive”

Verb patterns are the way we use each verb when it is followed by another verb.

Some verbs are followed by “to + infinitive”

Some are followed by “verb+ing”: I saw him going to the shop.

Some are “verb + sb + to do” – I want him to help me.

Some are “verb + sb + do” – She let me use her phone.
