LEVEL 5 GRAMMAR, JANUARY 16TH, 2018
We concentrated on the Present Perfect in this class.
First we revised the Present perfect to talk about experience:
Frank has lived an interesting life.
He has been married 5 times.
He has acted in a Hollywood movie.
The important thing here is what he has done, not when.
When we add more information, we use the Past Simple.
Frank has acted in a Hollywood movie. This happened in 1992. The movie was called Monster!.
We practiced in groups....
Have you ever been married?
Yes, I have.
When were you married?
I was married in 1997.
Have you ever been to France?
Yes, I have.
When did you go to France?
I went there in 2001.
We then looked at "yet" and "already". We also use the Present Perfect with them.

We use "already" with a positive statement.
I don't need to do my homework, I have already done it.
We use "yet" with negatives and questions...
Have you finished yet?
I haven't had dinner yet.
